Our developers and consultants specialize in LIMS and EHS systems (MAQSIMA LAB+, MAQSIMA TMS and MAQSIMA myFM), making us the number one provider in the German-speaking market. The Position

Our IT operations are currently managed by two administrators, each responsible for their own area and budget. We are looking for someone to lead the team, oversee the entire department and take overall responsibility for it.

A second key focus of this position is our customer hosting services, including the development of our validated cloud environment.

Your Responsibilities

Leadership and Coordination

• You take overall responsibility for IT administration and serve as the main point of contact for management, development and support.

• You provide technical leadership to the two administrators, coordinate priorities and interfaces between their areas of responsibility, and make decisions where necessary.

• You maintain an overview of all ongoing projects and budgets, reporting on progress, risks and matters requiring decisions.

• You ensure that operational documentation, emergency plans and responsibilities are complete, up to date and clearly documented.

Customer Hosting

• A particular focus is placed on our customer hosting services. Tasks currently handled by our software development team will gradually be transferred to the IT department wherever technically and organizationally appropriate. You will manage this transition and establish clear responsibilities between IT administration and development.

• You will also serve as the central point of contact for our infrastructure and hosting partners, as well as for customers regarding operational and infrastructure-related matters.

• Together with the departments involved, you will drive the development of our validated cloud environment and establish a professional, scalable and reliable hosting operation.

Security and Data Protection

• You ensure that access and authorization concepts, backup and recovery procedures and their documentation, as well as processes for handling security incidents, are properly established and consistently followed.

• You commission penetration tests, evaluate their results and monitor the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

• You respond to customer security questionnaires and coordinate security incidents with those responsible for data protection.

Your Profile

• Completed vocational training or a university degree in IT (e.g. IT specialist in system integration, computer science or business informatics), or equivalent professional experience.

• Several years of experience in IT operations and experience in leading a team.

• Strong technical understanding of Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, networks (firewalls, VPN, DNS, TLS), backup systems, databases (MS SQL, Oracle) and Java application servers, enabling you to communicate effectively with administrators and service providers and evaluate technical solutions.

• Experience in managing external service providers, contract management and direct customer communication. You communicate clearly, reliably and in a solution-oriented manner, even during service disruptions.

• A demonstrably structured approach to work with thorough documentation, for example based on ITIL or comparable processes.

• Knowledge of information security (e.g. ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz) and data protection, as well as confidence in managing costs and budgets.

• An advantage: Experience in GxP-regulated environments (GAMP 5, EU GMP Annex 11, 21 CFR Part 11) or in the qualification of IT infrastructure.

• Very good German language skills and good English language skills.
